Board of Directors
Sustainable is governed by the Board of its General Partner, Sustainable Property Management Limited. The Board meets quarterly as a matter of course and periodically to consider acquisitions or sales of property as opportunities arise. The Board approves all acquisitions and disposals of property assets. The Board members ‘related entities are actively invested in Sustainable. This means their interests are aligned with ensuring Sustainable performs well and that risks are carefully managed.

Vaughan Darby
Chair
Vaughan is an experienced director and entrepreneur who has been investing in and managing commercial property for more than twenty years.

Stuart Shepherd
Director
Stuart has been involved in property and infrastructure businesses for most of his career, with an emphasis on strategy, pricing and allocating capital. He is an economist and Chartered Accountant.

John Bolam
Director
John is an experienced director who has been involved in property investment, property management and land development for over 40 years. John was a founding director of CatoBolam, a land surveying, civil engineering and planning consultancy based in Auckland and Whangarei.

Carl Vink
Director
Carl has over 20 years’ experience working across the commercial and nonprofit sectors in leadership roles. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors with experience across commercial, charitable, and school boards. He brings marketing, communications, and strategy experience, along with investment management and leadership skills to the team. While a true Wellingtonian at heart, he currently lives in Auckland with his wife and four sons.

As of April 2025 there were four directors on the Board:

All current directors are indirect Unit holders in the Fund.
The Board regularly reviews director skills and governance experience relative to those listed above, to assist the Board to plan for director development, renewal and succession.
